The FAQ's
How do we book you?
Connect with me via instagram, Facebook or via email through my website. Let me know which photo session you're interested in with your preferred time (sunrise/sunset), date and location preference. If you're unsure, I am happy to help with these.
How long have you been doing this?
My love for photography started from a young age. I am that friend that makes everyone at social gatherings have group photos [which they seem to only appreciate later], and the person with thousands of photos in their camera roll. It was only when I moved to Canada in 2018 that I purchased my first Sony camera, the A6500, to capture the beautiful landscapes and majestical Northern Lights. Since then, I have learnt all my technical skills through self-teaching, hours of trial and error, frustration, tears and then finally excitement and joy when my skills began to show in my work. Practice gets results, photography is my passion.
What should we wear?
Planning your outfit makes a huge difference to your images and is worth getting right before the shoot to ensure a worry-free experience!
It’s important you are comfortable and can relax in your outfit.
The simpler the better. Choose clothing that is a solid, neutral colour. If you have a favourite outfit, go with that and style the rest of the outfits around it. For the best results stay with the same tones and don't match exactly (e.g all wearing a white t-shirt and tan pants). Coordinate your outfits by selecting a couple of complementary colours from the favourite/main outfit choice and dress everyone in a combination of these mixed with neutrals e.g. grey, tan, cream, blue, lighter brown and white.
Avoid clothing with logos, bright colours/fluro, patterns, items that attract lint, crease easy, show underwear lines or underwear. Try to avoid large blocks of black.
Think about shoes - if you're wearing a dress try some nice sandals/wedges/boots. If you're at the beach barefoot is perfect. Chinos and casual dress shoes/boots. Try to avoid flip flops, sneakers or worn-out shoes.
How do I choose a session; Mini or full?
Choosing between them depends on your budget, time constraints, and the specific purpose of the photoshoot. Mini sessions are only offered at certain times throughout the year. Keep an eye out on my social media pages for mini sessions.
Mini sessions are short, focused photo shoots typically lasting 15-20 minutes, ideal for updating your family photos, capturing specific occasions like special events (balls, formals), holidays (Xmas, Easter) or milestones. They are cost-effective, providing a smaller selection of edited photos.
Full sessions are longer, more comprehensive shoots offering a relaxed and fun atmosphere to capture a wider variety of poses, emotions and settings, resulting in more photos at a higher cost.
Do you edit or retouch photos?
Yes. I do edits in Lightroom; correcting lighting/exposure, colour, temperature, cropping. If required, I then retouch in Photoshop; remove blemishes, brighten teeth, smooth skin, or remove any unwanted objects.
What's your turn around time?
2 - 4 weeks. Postproduction takes time, precision, attention to detail and pure love. Turn-around time varies depending on the photo session requirements and the current workload.
How many photos do we get?
After every session I select the best images and cull the rest before editing. This means I go through all photos to ensure only the best are delivered to you. It's about the quality and emotion contained in the image, not about the quantity. If you have booked a mini session 5 images are included in your package, however if you wish to purchase the whole gallery after viewing, you can.
Do you offer printing services?
Yes, I use one of the oldest and most established photo labs in Australia, Atkins Photo Lab based right here in South Australia. With a strong reputation for quality and service over the decades, they hold a significant place in the industry due to their extensive experience and commitment to photographic excellence. They specialize in high-quality printing of digital images, and a range of custom printing options including canvas, framing, prints and photobook albums. They do everything with precision and care, ensuring exceptional results for all clients.
How do we get our photos?
Once all photos are ready to be delivered to you, an email with a password protected link to your online gallery will be sent, this is where you can download all photos digitally.
